Superman, Batman, Spiderman: Superheroes or Misleading Idols

The NHJC was excited to take its annual event, the Debate to a brand new location - Lizottes. Thanks to everyone at Lizottes, particularly our MC Brian Lizotte, for the great food and amazing venue.

Thanks again to our speakers who gave up their time for our entertainment - and for astounding us with their wit, humour and musings on the role of super heroes.

The Winners! The Negative team managed to convince the audience that Super Heroes are indeed Misleading Idols. Mem Hockley - Celebrity chef Martin Dinneen - Journalist Brendan Knott - Comedian	Runners-up... But only by a small margin! The Affirmative team argued in favour of Super Heroes, but despite a super human effort, were out-voted to the Negative team. Lachlan Wilson - Lawyer and NHJC director Libby Dedman - Just Liberated Trevor Waring - Newcastle University Chancellor
